Compose your own music with the powerful and user-friendly music notation software, Dorico. This next-generation software from Steinberg is already trusted by tens of thousands of musicians worldwide and is now available for iPad. It is widely used by students in schools and caters to the needs of professionals in concert music, film and TV, and music publishing.

Dorico for iPad seamlessly integrates with Dorico for macOS and Windows, allowing you to work on your projects on the go or from your desktop/laptop computer. You can also easily share your projects with musicians using Dorico on any platform.

The interface of Dorico is divided into four modes to streamline your workflow. In Setup mode, you can add instruments, reorder sections of music, and format your music layouts for your musicians. In Write mode, you have intuitive toolboxes and panels to input and edit music and notations. Engrave mode (available with a paid subscription) allows you to make graphical adjustments to every element in your project. Lastly, Play mode grants you access to powerful MIDI editing tools for a more refined performance.

Dorico comes with built-in virtual instruments and effects for playback, but you can also use compatible Audio Unit plug-ins or external MIDI devices (with optional in-app purchase) for more customization. You can input music using the on-screen piano keyboard or connect a MIDI keyboard directly via USB or with a compatible USB-to-Lightning adaptor. Keyboard shortcuts are available for users with external keyboards, enhancing speed and efficiency.

Dorico offers free usage for ensembles of one or two players. By registering with a free Steinberg ID, you can expand the player limit to four, allowing you to write for quartets or choirs. For advanced features and greater flexibility, an optional subscription is available. This unlocks the ability to write for ensembles of any size and provides access to Engrave mode, allowing you to fine-tune graphical details in your project.
